MNMRC’s Robin Newbold honored as one of The Maui News “2018 People Who Made a Difference”

Congratulations to Maui Nui Marine Resource Council’s Robin Newbold, selected by The Maui News as one of Maui’s “2018 People Who Made a Difference.”

Robin is the co-founder and executive director/chair of our nonprofit organization. She’s a thoughtful, hard-working and inspiring leader, committed to the vision of healthy coral reefs, clean ocean water and an abundance of native fish for the islands of Maui County.

As the article reports, Robin has spent countless hours working on field projects, convening and facilitating meetings, testifying before lawmakers, coordinating volunteers, writing grant proposals and reports and following through on deliverables since 2007. And she’s done all of it pro bono.

“I do it all for the reefs,” she said in the article. “Because the reefs do so much for us.”
